Ever since I found out about it I've been meaning to enter NaNoWriMo... not this year. This year it's a conscious choice to skip out, not a case of forgetting about it or starting and not finishing.
Why? At the risk of sounding too snobby, it's because I don't feel I need to (not this year, at least). I've found so many outlets to my creative drives that NaNoWriMo would actually distract me from them rather than complement them. I acknowledge NaNoWriMo as an excellent exercise, but I've tested myself in other occasions and I know I can output that amount of text with a good measure of quality.
But this month and the following I'm focusing on several, several other things, one of them being getting off my hiney and start really producing Nahast's RPG version, now that I also got off my hiney and made the decision to stick with Paizo's Pathfinder rather than try and migrate to D&D 4E. My urges to make something for 4E are already being sated by yet another thing I'm working on and don't want to reveal until it's at a more advanced stage of development.
In addition, I want to try and complete an ArtOrder challenge; I only did the first part of the last one due to a flood of work. Right now I need (and want) more practice with my drawing than with my writing.
So, there... no NaNoWriMo for me this year; I've plenty of other things to keep me stressed and busy :)
